I recently spent 10 days at this Boutique Hotel and had such a memorable experience that I'm already thinking about a return trip! The surf lessons are the best in Santa Teresa, the accommodation is stellar and the breakfast each day is authentic and wonderful. The managers do a phenomenal job and really offer the guest a 5-star experience. Every day the manager took us to a new beach to surf and gave us private lessons with top notch equipment. Save time and effort and look no further. Trust me, this is the best combination of surfing and top accommodation in Santa Teresa! Alex V.
How do I get from the airport to Surfcamp?
Pavones is a seaside community on the south Pacific coast, home to some of the best surf spots in the Americas. The region is located in the heart of Central America and is easily accessible from two international airports: San José's Juan SantamarÃa International Airport (SJO) and Liberia's Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR).
Local carriers Sansa Airlines and Nature Air offer daily flights to Puerto Jiménez and Golfito airports.
From San José, there are two options for getting to us (in addition to car hire)
Shuttle bus
The first option is to take the daily shuttle bus. It picks you up from the airport or your hotel. There is usually one in the morning and one in the middle of the day. It takes 4.5 hours to get to us. 1.5 hours to the ferry at Puntarenas, 1.5 hours to cross the peninsula on the ferry and 1.5 hours to get to us on the other side. It costs 60 dollars one way. The shuttle is comfortable and you can book tickets online at www.tropicaltourshuttles.com.
Charter flight
You can get from SJO to Tambor by small plane. The flight takes 20 minutes and from Tambor another 40 minutes to get to us. Tickets cost around $100 one way and a taxi from Tambor to us costs $60.
You can see the tickets on Flysansa and Costaricagreenair.
