Famara is a real surf town. You'll see barefoot people carrying surfboards all over the streets... The beach is only a few minutes' walk from the village centre.
The town is very friendly and has a great atmosphere. You'll love relaxing over a coffee or a beer, discovering the town's bars and restaurants and meeting new people.
People from all over the world come here to surf - Lanzarote is nicknamed the 'Hawaii of Europe' because of its big waves. Around our small town you'll find surf spots to suit all tastes and abilities.

Kitchen
The local cuisine is made up of a multitude of simple but very tasty dishes. From fresh fish of the day to local goat's cheese, there's something for everyone! Some of you will simply succumb to different tapas to share, and that's probably the best idea if you don't want to miss out on a local speciality!
If you're finally on holiday and don't want to buy food or cook for yourself, no problem! Just a short walk from our surf camp and flats, you'll find plenty of restaurants and tapas bars. They offer tasty local specialities and international cuisine! Not to mention all the restaurants dotted around our beautiful island! Lanzarote!
You can find some traditional Canarian tapas, but the majority of them are unique to Lanzarote, and their taste is inimitable! We've selected a few typical dishes, tapas and wines that you absolutely must try during your stay in Lanzarote.

Our surf school and surf camp is located in the village of Caleta de Famara in Lanzarote, Canary Islands.
Famara beach - Europe's best beach for beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers
Our surf lessons take place on Famara beach, just a stone's throw from the village centre. The Famara beach break offers 6 km of coastline, with waves for all levels and a magnificent backdrop of volcanic mountains.
Access
Lanzarote Airport, Arrecife (ACE)
- You can get direct flights to Lanzarote from most major European cities, such as Madrid, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, Bologna, London and Barcelona.
- Taking a ferry to Lanzarote is a great option if you don't like flying or prefer to bring your own vehicle with you.
- Renting a car is also a convenient way to get to Famara . The average rental cost is 120-150 euros / week.
- The most convenient way to get to our surfcamp is by taxi. The journey takes between 25 and 30 minutes and costs around 40 euros from the airport.
