Our kite camp is located at the foot of the Stagnone nature reserve. Its position is ideal for reaching Sicily's heavenly beaches, embarking on a breathtaking escursion to the archipelago of the Egadi islands.
Clear waters, unspoilt nature, land rich in history and archaeological remains, salt marshes, shallow waters accessible on foot - these are just some of the features that make Stagnone one of the first islands to be established in Sicily (1984). Summer is pleasant thanks to the wind, which allows locals and travellers alike to cool off in the town. A mix of colours and rhythms, you'll love this cheerful, friendly town, with its many events throughout the year (Holy Week, events around Garibaldi's landing and the many fairs and festivals celebrating the harvest).
The Kitecamp will be with you throughout your holiday to help you discover this island and kite in its turquoise waves!

Another important point about car hire in Italy is that you generally need a credit card to collect your vehicle. In France, however, we mainly use debit cards. This can pose a problem when you collect your car, as the hire company may refuse to give you the vehicle or may increase the price.
Many people find themselves stuck late at the airport for this reason and don't end up taking a hire car for double the price originally booked. If you are in any doubt as to whether your bank card is a debit or a credit card, it will be marked as such. If you don't have a credit card, make sure you book with a rental company that accepts debit cards.
There are also car rental companies on site, if you want to rent a car from time to time during your stay. On request, we will send you details of local rental companies from which you can request a quote for one or more days. They can also bring the vehicle to you at the airport.
We're located at the western end of Sicily, where we're mainly exposed to Tramontane, Maestro, Sirocco and Levante. In addition, we can also count on a thermal effect, which increases the northerly winds by a few knots between June and September.
Wind statistics over the course of the season show around 70-80% of days are windy (12 knots or more); on a week's holiday, you can expect 4-5 windy days, 6 or 7 are quite possible, while 3 windy days would be a rare and unlucky week. Below that, it generally doesn't happen.
In months like May or October, we have more days with strong winds than in July or August. But in the warmer months we have thermals and although 30-knot days are rare, 15-18 knots is the norm (perfect for courses).
The 13 km GFS table gives a 7-day trend, but bear in mind that these forecasts are only reliable for the next 2-3 days. The forecasts are changeable in spring and autumn.
In summer, the thermals work well and the forecasts are more stable.
You can also look at the Windfinder site and consult the Lo Stagnone superforecast.
During the summer months, temperatures fluctuate around 30 degrees, and in midsummer they are closer to 35 degrees. As we're located in a windy area with a coastal breeze, these temperatures are much more bearable than if you were in a city.
Out of season (May, late September, October) the weather can be changeable, still generally warm during the day but cooler in the evening and at night, and it can rain. So before planning your activity, be sure to check the weather forecast.
