Our surf school is located on the Sables d'Or beach in Anglet.
La chambre d'Amour, the perfect place to start surfing!
The last beach in the Chambre d'Amour district, the Sables d'Or beach has all the characteristics of an urban beach. Surrounded by over forty bars and restaurants, it is popular all year round.
All year round, during the day and in the evening, the bars and restaurants lining the Esplanade des Gascons welcome visiting Anglo-Saxons and tourists alike.
In the summer months, the Rayon Vert restaurant opens directly on the beach. The Beach House, the trendy bar-restaurant set just back from the beach, attracts a completely different crowd, all riding their Harleys. A few metres away, the beach volleyball players find their balls and nets before being joined at the end of July by the joyful and colourful caravan of the Anglet Beach Rugby Festival, one of the great summer attractions.
On the beach at Les Sables, the usual meeting place for summer visitors and a whole section of young Anglo-Americans, people laugh, argue, play ball, rackets, picnic and try their hand at surfing!
Whether you're an Angloy or a visitor to the town, you're bound to end up in Les Sables d'Or at some point. The town council has made no mistake, setting up a tourist office that is always full. Les Sables: the place to be!
This beach is a popular surfing area. Low tide is preferable, as high tide covers the entire beach and creates a significant backwash. The cradle of surfing in Anglet, it hosts a number of competitions including the Surf de Nuit, a unique competition in Europe, and the Pro Anglet in August.
The upper part of the beach is equipped all year round with beach volleyball courts open to all. Car parks and restaurants nearby. Free shuttle bus service in July and August. Public showers and toilets.
Sheltered by the cliffs to the south and a rocky spur to the north, the configuration of the spot allows the waves to filter through, guaranteeing calm, high-quality surf all year round.

What should I bring for my surf lesson?
We provide the board, wetsuit and instructor. Just bring a swimming costume to wear under the wetsuit, a towel, a change of clothes and a bottle of water.

Since 2005, brothers John and Tim, multiple European and French champions, have been welcoming you to their school in the heart of Anglet's beaches.
This family-run school will introduce you to this activity with good humour and passion, two values that have inspired these two champions since they were very young.
