Kitesurf Camps: Where to go out and party in Dakhla?
The Dakhla Lagoon is the name given to this hidden gem nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sahara Desert. Over time, the town has established itself as a top destination for kitesurfers. And there are several reasons for this.
It is nicknamed the ‘city of wind’ because of the trade winds and its varied wind conditions. These make for ideal conditions for wind and board sports. Whether you’re a kitesurfer, windsurfer, wingfoiler or even a surfer, you’ll appreciate the mild temperatures all year round (in summer, it’s the same temperature as in Biarritz!) and the variety of spots.
Lassarga, a truly exceptional wave to enjoy with the family
Discovered almost by chance in 2015, the wave at Lassarga immediately stood out as the obvious choice.
At the time, there was nothing else around – just the ocean, the desert and a wave with incredible potential.
Even today, it has lost none of its magic.
Lassarga may not be the biggest wave, nor the one where you spend all your time in the tube,
but it is undoubtedly one of the most well-rounded and generous waves around.
There’s something for everyone here. From children on foam boards to experienced surfers,
everyone can enjoy a long, gentle and playful wave.
Every ride is different, every sensation unique.
Facing a seemingly endless wall of water, often with a light offshore breeze,
it feels as though you’re flying over the ocean.
👉 Over a minute of riding, 15 manoeuvres per wave.
Lassarga is also a place that has managed to remain authentic and respectful of its surroundings.
The spot has changed, but the wave has remained intact, as beautiful as ever.
Here, respect is essential, both in the water and on land:
a smile, a hello, a bit of courtesy.
Because at Lassarga, respect is an integral part of the experience.
La Pointe d'Or: surfing conditions in the waves for all ability levels
Located near the Dakhla lagoon, but on the ocean side. Be careful, you might get stuck in the sand, so it’s best to go there in a 4x4! Its rocky headland forms a bay, ideal for riding the Atlantic waves. You’ll need to be a confident kiter to tackle these big waves.
Discover a rocky headland forming a small, secluded bay in Dakhla. With moderate winds and beautiful waves from the Atlantic Ocean, this spot offers the perfect conditions for beginners or those looking to improve their surfing skills. With your board in hand, you’ll glide gently along, riding the rhythm of the long waves of the Sahara.
It will be a truly unique experience if you’ve never tried a board sport before.

Foum Lbouir: enjoy world-class waves

The idyllic setting and waves of Arish
Before kitesurfers took over its vast coastline, Dakhla was a popular spot for surfers. Indeed, this peninsula is renowned worldwide for its lagoon, which has become a must-visit windsurfing paradise for kitesurfers. But traditional surfing is still practised there.
A special mention for the El Arish spot and its beautiful waves. Make the most of your visit to the town to ride these seemingly endless waves. Whether you’re a beginner or intermediate, you’ll have hours of fun. Located north of Dakhla, the El Arish spot undoubtedly has the best waves in the surrounding area. The proof is that surfers from all over Europe flock there to indulge their passion.
And while the water may be cooler at certain times of the day, the sun is there to keep you warm. By the way, don’t forget to wear a wetsuit suitable for surfing.
