Hélène D: Group stay
"I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel. Given the context I didn't meet anyone from the staff but we exchanged via whattsap. Quick answers. Very clean room and hostel. Very good location. I chose a double room with private bathroom. I had a TV and a fridge in the room. Like a hotel room in the end. My room was on the street side. A bit busy but one way so limits the passage personally I was not bothered. I really enjoyed my stay and if the opportunity arises I would gladly return!"

Our Activities
Adventures
Looking for a little adventure? We recommend taking the cable car to the mystical parish of Monte. Usually shrouded in mist, it is a place of legends and stories. We suggest you take a leisurely stroll through the gardens and lose yourself in the historic palaces, thinking you are the protagonist of a novel. When you tire of the romance, make a mandatory stop at Land Food & Coffe, whether it's for the great views of the city or the brunch and coffee menu. How do I get back to Funchal? By classic basket car, of course!
Do you dream of riding off into the sunset? Our friends at Happy Hour can help you make that dream come true. Like us, this small, friendly family business shares a passion for the sea and the island. Let the experienced sailors take you out on the blue waters of the Atlantic and create the memory of a perfect day.
Diving
The best thing about Funchal is that this modern city can remind you that the sea is always there. The best place to dive into the ocean, but also to get an idea of Madeira's ocean culture, is Praia do Arsenal. This place is located in a fortress that reminds you of the city's antiquity, and is full of fishermen, iconic locals and newcomers that make this place very colourful and lively.
Bike rental
Renting a bike is a great way to explore Funchal and get some exercise. There are cycle paths throughout the western part of the city. Our favourite route starts around the historic Reid's Hotel and ends in the picturesque fishing village of Câmara de Lobos. This 13km trail takes you through modern Funchal, without ever losing sight of the ocean, to the place where the poncha was invented. After one too many ponchas, will you have the legs to make the return trip?
