The surf camp in Port Da Cruz Madeira is the cool surfer friend who always organises the best dinners in his garden. That's what it feels like when you arrive, like walking into a friend's house, only cooler. With private and shared rooms, a coworking space and a welcoming garden, this wonderful place just two minutes from the beach is really hard to leave.
The hostel in Porto da Cruz is a guest house. The green courtyard is the place where locals and tourists meet, party and chat on a sunny Sunday. It welcomes everyone like old friends, with pizza and beer, spacious spaces and artistic decoration. Just two minutes from the beach, it's one of the factors that gives Porto da Cruz its current reputation as a 'cool village'. Well-decorated private rooms coexist with the bunk room concept in a very harmonious way.
"Very nice and warm youth hostel. Off season (we were there at the end of October), don't miss the burger and pizza nights (2 nights/week) which bring people to the hostel (otherwise the village is quite quiet). Lovely hosts, good spaces to meet other guests. The dormitory in the attic is very pleasant to sleep in, a little corner just for you will be proposed! The house is very pretty, we are close to beaches, restaurants...it was perfect!"
Bar and Restaurant
The surfcamp has communal kitchens with everything you need to prepare a light meal. Please note that these are shared areas and it is your responsibility to keep them clean.
We do not provide breakfast. However, we can advise you of the best places to eat.
Restaurants such as Snack Bar A Pipa, Restaurante Praia da Alagoa and Restaurant Costa Linda are popular in the Madeira area where The Surfcamp is located.
Every Friday, The Inn opens its doors to foodies for Pizza Night.
The chef Ricardo Vieira runs the wood-fired oven in the centre of the house and turns water, flour and fresh ingredients into delicious pizzas, not without a pinch of genius and Tome's Italian music playlist. Locals and travellers mingle around the table as the pizzas come out of the oven, making Jaca a perfect destination for a Friday night with a difference.
