Surf School, Madeira

The village is surrounded by black sandy volcanic beaches, ideal for those who want to take surf lessons and learn to surf on Madeira Island.

On Madeira Island there are hardly any crowds, in fact not many local surfers.
For beginner surfers the most popular spots in Porto da Cruz are all black sand:

Alagoa: A small bay, only a two minute walk from the surf course and surf school. Ideal for surf lessons and learning as it is protected from big waves.

Maiata: It is about ten minutes away from the surfcamp. It is the biggest and most beautiful sandy beach in Madeira and can handle waves up to 2 metres.

Great! Perfect conditions! Totally different from dahkla because there you leave by boat and they drop you in the sea (rather than starting from the beach) and then you really have 2 hours in the water! Margaux from Paris
