The temperature ranges from a minimum of 21 degrees to a maximum of 32 degrees. Les mois de septembre et d'octobre sont en moyenne les plus pluvieux. En général, même pendant la saison des pluies (mai-novembre), il fait beau tous les jours. Il y a de beaux nuages blancs bouffis et du soleil par intermittence, la jungle est la plus luxuriante, les fleurs s'épanouissent, les oiseaux chantent et les chutes d'eau sont pleines à craquer. Quelques fois par an, de gros orages surviennent et il peut pleuvoir toute la journée pendant quelques jours... généralement, ces "temporalités" durent 2 ou 3 jours et le temps redevient clair... mais cela peut arriver n'importe où. Le Nicaragua n'a PAS d'ouragans.

Every season has its own magic!

The combination of a constant coastal breeze and dry heat makes for a very pleasant climate, with virtually no flying insects. There is little or no rainfall on a daily basis, giving you the feeling of being bathed in sunshine and refreshed by the cool waters of the ocean.

During this season, you can expect intermittent sunshine, with scattered showers and puffy white clouds. Most of the time, the weather is lovely every day. When major thunderstorms roll in, you can expect rain all day for a few days. Generally speaking, these ‘temporary’ spells last two or three days and occur a few times a year, but they clear up quickly and the weather returns to being pleasant. The advantage of visiting the island at this time of year is that the surrounding jungle is at its most lush, the surf is always good, whale watching is very rewarding, and you can witness the hatching of thousands of baby sea turtles.

The water temperature varies depending on the seasons and global conditions. The water is quite warm from May to December. From January through to March, as land temperatures begin to rise, the Humboldt Current flows past Nicaragua’s Pacific coast, making the water cooler. Depending on what you’re used to and the activities you do before diving, the water may feel very refreshing or a little cool during these months, but it’s never too cold to enjoy. As a general rule, as soon as the water temperature drops, the fishing season begins. The water may therefore be a little cooler in winter, but there’s an abundance of fresh fish.

Officially, check-in is at 3.00 pm and check-out is at 11.00 am. You are welcome to arrive earlier and leave later, but we cannot guarantee access to your room before or after the scheduled check-in and check-out times.

The US dollar is widely accepted in most parts of Nicaragua. Costa Dulce and most other establishments in the area accept US dollars but will give change in the local currency. Please note that all prices at Costa Dulce are quoted in US dollars. The nearest cash machine, which dispenses both cordobas and US dollars, is in the village of San Juan del Sur, a 25-minute drive away.

Our hotel has a lovely saltwater swimming pool with views of the beach and the Pacific Ocean.

We have organic cotton bed linen on all the beds, along with pillows, blankets and so on. We have handmade organic soap, shampoo and conditioner...

We provide purified water for drinking. Although you can safely bathe and brush your teeth using tap water, we do not recommend drinking a full glass of it.

Yes, we have 110-volt three-pin sockets throughout the resort. European guests will need to bring an adapter.

We’re on the beach, and most of our facilities are literally a stone’s throw from the sand.

Our spot isn’t usually very busy. The number of people at the other spots in the area varies depending on the time of year and the swell conditions.

Costa Dulce is situated on a secluded beach, 25 minutes from the busy tourist town of San Juan del Sur. The neighbouring villages of Escamequita and Coco offer basic shops just 10 minutes away.

There’s a beach break right opposite our resort, which is generally best at medium or high tide. Playa Yankee is a 15-minute walk away and offers A-frames and plenty of barrels. Playa Hermosa, Romanso and Tamarindo are all a 20-minute drive away.

Yes. We have a network of footpaths around the property, which are ideal for walking and jogging.

Yes, high-speed Wi-Fi is available on site and is free of charge. As our entire retreat is powered by solar panels, there are no power cuts. That said, we hope you’ll find the time to switch off and enjoy the tranquillity of our beautiful beach and the surrounding countryside 🙂 .
