Frequently asked questions!
1How do our Surf Camps work? Will there be 24-hour surveillance?
We organise summer camps for young surfers from late June to early August. These camps are aimed at young people aged 13 to 18. Each group is made up of 8 participants who are supervised by a surfcamp instructor. During the surf lessons, the participants are divided up according to their surfing level, with a maximum of 5 students per instructor. The most important thing for us is to ensure that all participants feel safe and supported while having a memorable and fun experience.
2How can parents contact their children?
We want all the children to concentrate on their activities throughout the day, which is why we ask them not to carry their phones during activities. Every day from 6pm to 9pm, parents will be able to contact their children. Parents can always contact the camp coordinator from 8am to 6pm (Portuguese time) in case of emergency.
3What are the sleeping arrangements?
We can accommodate around 42 participants, divided between shared and private rooms. There are male and female dormitories, mixed dormitories and also the option of private rooms.
4Is insurance included?
Our comprehensive accident insurance covers all participants in the event of an accident occurring during the activities. We therefore advise all participants to bring their European Health Card or health insurance card.

6Do I need to be a good swimmer?
Our main aim at the summer camp is to create a fun and safe environment where everyone can learn to surf and improve their skills, enjoy all the daily activities, as well as develop personally and socially. Knowing how to swim will give participants a solid foundation to make significant progress in surfing. However, this is not imperative. We will make any necessary adjustments for those who are not completely comfortable in the water and we will never take anyone to a depth of water they are not comfortable with. Our surf instructors are well equipped to ensure the safety of all students.
7What should they bring to surf? Should they bring their own wetsuit?
We provide a wetsuit, the size and thickness of which is adapted to each student. Each student will be allocated a wetsuit for the duration of the week. The only things they need to bring are a beach towel, a swimming costume or shorts and effective sun protection.
