Biscarrosse has over 4km of fine sandy beach, so we've come to your rescue by listing the top surfing spots in Biscarrosse!
The Vivier beach
Located at the northern end of Bisca Plage! This spot, enhanced by the promenade it offers before any session, is well known to tourists and can be very busy in high season. Enjoy.
The Trencat surf spot
A spot shared with the Gironde, it takes its name from a forest house on the side of the departmental road 218 leading to Arcachon. Located right in the middle of the pine forest, this spot is sure to please surfers looking for total freedom and nature! Just one word: ADMIREZ!
Plage Nord, a surf spot for everyone
Located opposite the urbanised dune, this spot is very popular thanks in particular to the observatory provided by the North roundabout overlooking the beach of the same name. This allows surfers to check the day's conditions at a glance, while still sitting behind the wheel of their car. For your information, this spot hosts the WSL Junior Pro every year in May and the Kiwi Surf Festival at the end of July.
N° 1 : Surfing at South Beach
Tucked away between dunes, ocean and a military zone, South Beach is probably the locals' favourite spot! Its unique sandbank offers powerful waves at high tide that are difficult to surf once the tide goes out. You're sure to come across a few seasoned local surfers. Enjoy the show!
Surfing and SUP lessons and courses in Biscarrosse
Surfing and stand-up paddling in the ocean are practised at Plage du Vivier. More technical, it's best to do a few sessions at the lake beforehand.
The canals linking Biscarosse's two lakes run through the middle of the Landes forest, providing a very smooth stretch of water that's ideal for stand-up paddling, even in very strong winds.
What should I bring for my surf lesson?
We provide the board, wetsuit, instructor and transport if the ocean is stormy and you have to leave the premises to go to a fallback spot. Just bring a swimming costume to wear under your wetsuit, a towel, a change of clothes and a bottle of water.
What time are the lessons?
We give 1h30 lessons in the water. Appointments are always made half an hour in advance so that you don't waste any time in the water. The times of our lessons are planned according to the tides and your level, and can be modified according to the weather. We only have groups of 8 people, which allows our instructors to concentrate on the progress of each person and enables you to make the best possible progress. The boards are brought to the beach by the instructors, so you don't have to carry them. All you have to do is put on your wetsuits and make the most of the moment!

From beginners to intermediate and advanced surfers, we'll find the right wave for you, with no age or gender restrictions. Your surf instructor will support you throughout your learning process.
