Les Cavaliers Surf School, Anglet
Our surf school is located on Les Cavaliers beach in Anglet.
Les Cavaliers is the perfect place to start surfing!
The Cavaliers surf spot is one of the best surf spots for learning to ride the waves from Anglet to Biarritz. In front of our structure, there are 2 sandy beaches separated by the famous Cavaliers breakwater.
- Beginner surfers will enjoy the small sandy waves that open up over a good distance, sheltered by the Cavaliers breakwater. The La barre spot, meanwhile, offers a "safe" spot at high tide, thanks in part to the sand accumulated between two breakwaters. The Cavaliers and Petite Barre breakwaters.
- Intermediate surfers will be well catered for on the right of Les Cavaliers or the left of La Barre. Long waves that open up with hollow sections for speed lovers and easy passes to get back up to the peak.
- Expert surfers will not be outdone, as these two spots are best known for the quality of their waves, their international competitions in the 80s and the off-centre nature of the coast north of Anglet, which means that the waves here are still relatively uncrowded. Tom Curren, Garry Elkerton and many others made no mistake. Waves from the outside with long, hollow sections to the powerful shorebreak on the left of the spot will delight bodyboarders and tube riders of all kinds... In rough weather and when the sea is impassable, the surf school will take you to more suitable spots free of charge.

Ideally situated on the ‘plage des cavaliers’, you'll benefit from group surf lessons given by a state-certified instructor for a high quality of teaching!
Remember to book in advance, because in summer and during school holidays, slots are taken over 7 days and there is no room for last-minute bookings.
What should I bring for my surf lesson?
We provide the board, wetsuit and instructor. Just bring a swimming costume to wear under the wetsuit, a towel, a change of clothes and a bottle of water.
What time are lessons?
We organise lessons around 2 hours before and after low tide with normal coefficients of 50/70. It can be more with lower coefficients but in any case,
We organise the groups ourselves, according to age and level, to ensure that you are as satisfied as possible. We'll call you back the day before to give you your lesson time, depending on the tides and "reliable swell and weather forecasts."
