The Shadow Mentawai is a surfcamp located on a private island in the heart of the Mentawais Indonesia.
It has been run by local Mentawai surfers (family and friends) since 2012, but we have been running The Shadow Speedboats since 2004.
Whether you surf or not, this destination will be special to you.
We have no neighbours, resorts or people around. Just coconut palms and secluded beaches with pristine coral reefs. Our vision and mission is to be as eco-friendly as possible given the options available to us! You will experience your stay in the most natural way. Surf, dive, hike, relax, laugh, read.
Bar and Restaurant
We include 3 delicious meals: cooked-to-order breakfast, lunch and dinner. Delicious authentic Indonesian cuisine, as well as a long menu inspired by Spanish, Mexican, Peruvian, Japanese and Italian cuisine.
We also have an additional menu in case you are still hungry.
Milk and vegetable drinks (soy and almond milk) are also included.

"The perfect surfcamp for me, one of the only locally run surfcamp. The staff know how to find the right wave for each individual. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is great!
Don't hesitate to come in July-August, according to the locals it's the best period for waves and yet less frequented in Mentawai!
The island is a small paradise. You can walk around it in about 30 minutes, there are snorkeling spots all around, and secret spots for quiet surfing when the conditions allow it. In short, the only flaw is that we would like to stay there forever! "
